Cristiano Ronaldo Cristiano Ronaldo
How did he do in Athens?
His United manager would say Ronaldo did brilliantly at the Games, as he was home earlier than expected after Portugal were surprisingly knocked out.

The biggest surprise was when the Euro 2004 runners up lost 4-2 to Iraq.

What Newsround said before the Games?
With no British team taking part at the Olympic football in Athens it's up to Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo to fly the flag for the Premiership.

The Manchester United winger got better and better during his debut season and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is fuming that he was selected for the Olympics.

But with the tournament only open to players younger than 23 (and three older than that per team) it was always likely that 18-year-old Ronaldo was going to be picked.

Having lit up Euro 2004 with some brilliant dribbling and vital goals he is sure to do the same at the Athens Olympics.
