After weeks of rumours, it seems Cristiano Ronaldo DOES want to leave Manchester United to join Real Madrid.

Speaking after his national team were knocked out of Euro 2008, the Portugal winger said he hoped to "complete his dream" of playing for the Spanish side.

United still insist Ronaldo's not for sale and said on Friday: "We are not listening to offers."

But the 23-year-old said he made up his mind before the Champions League final that he wanted to leave for Real.

"Everybody knows what I want but things don't only depend on me," he said. "I am not the person who decides but I hope to complete my dream."

He also revealed that his Portugal coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari who is about to take over at Chelsea, had advised him to make the move.

Ronaldo is expected to make a public statement about his plans over the next few days.

No evidence

Earlier this month, Manchester United complained to world footie bosses Fifa about Real's interest in Ronaldo, but Fifa said it wouldn't be taking any action against them.
