Live by this Name by saying ‘Bismillah’, ‘Alhamdulillah’, and ‘La ilaha ill Allah’, as much as you can and realize while you are reciting it.
He is the ONE AND ONLY.
هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ ۖ هُوَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ الرَّحِيمُ – 59:22
He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
The word Allah means “the Being Who comprises all the attributes of perfection”, the Being Who possesses the best and the noblest qualities imaginable in the highest degree. This is supported by the Quran:
“His are the best (or most beautiful) names.” (17:110; 20:8; and 7:180)
The word Allah is unique and it is the Name which refers to the Being Himself as His personal name.
قُلِ ادْعُوا اللَّهَ أَوِ ادْعُوا الرَّحْمَٰنَ ۖ أَيًّا مَّا تَدْعُوا فَلَهُ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا وَابْتَغِ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ سَبِيلًا – 17:110
Say, “Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful. Whichever [name] you call – to Him belong the best names.” And do not recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly but seek between that an [intermediate] way.
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ لَهُ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ – 20:8
Allah – there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names.
وَلِلَّهِ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ فَادْعُوهُ بِهَا ۖ وَذَرُوا الَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِي أَسْمَائِهِ ۚ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ – 7:180
And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing.
Proclaim (O Dear Prophet Muhammad – Peace And Blessings Be Upon Him),
“He Is Allah, He Is One.”
قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ – 112:1
“Your God Is One God; There Is No God Except Him – The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.”
وَإِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ الرَّحِيمُ – 2:163
“Allah Has Given Witness There Is No God Except Him – And The Angels And The Scholars Also Give Witness, Established With Justice (With Truth) – There Is No God Except Him, The Almighty, The Wise.”
شَهِدَ اللَّهُ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ وَأُولُو الْعِلْمِ قَائِمًا بِالْقِسْطِ ۚ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ – 3:18
“Allah – There Is No God Except Him; He Is Alive (Eternally, On His Own) And The Upholder (Keeps Others Established); He Never Feels Drowsy Nor Does He Sleep; To Him Only Belongs All Whatever Is In The Heavens And All Whatever Is In The Earth; Who Is He That Can Intercede With Him Except By His Command? He Knows What Is In Front Of Them And What Is Behind Them; And They Do Not Achieve Anything Of His Knowledge Except What He Wills; His Throne (Of Sovereignty) Encompasses The Heavens And The Earth, And It Is Not Difficult For Him To Guard Them; And He Is The Supreme, The Greatest.”
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ – 2:255
“O People Given The Book(S)! Do Not Exaggerate In Your Religion Nor Say Anything Concerning Allah, But The Truth; The Messiah, Eisa The Son Of Maryam, Is Purely A Noble Messenger Of Allah, And His Word; Which He Sent Towards Maryam, And A Spirit From Him; So Believe In Allah And His Noble Messengers; And Do Not Say “Three”; Desist, For Your Own Good; Undoubtedly Allah Is The Only One God; Purity Is To Him From Begetting A Child; To Him Only Belongs All Whatever Is In The Heavens And All Whatever Is In The Earth; And Allah Is A Sufficient Trustee (Of Affairs).”
يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لَا تَغْلُوا فِي دِينِكُمْ وَلَا تَقُولُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْحَقَّ ۚ إِنَّمَا الْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَكَلِمَتُهُ أَلْقَاهَا إِلَىٰ مَرْيَمَ وَرُوحٌ مِّنْهُ ۖ فَآمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ ۖ وَلَا تَقُولُوا ثَلَاثَةٌ ۚ انتَهُوا خَيْرًا لَّكُمْ ۚ إِنَّمَا اللَّهُ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ سُبْحَانَهُ أَن يَكُونَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ ۘ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ وَكِيلًا – 4:171
“And We Sent Hud To The People Of Aad From Their Own Community; He Said, “O My People! Worship Allah – You Do Not Have Any God Except Him; So Do You Not Fear?”
وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا ۗ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۚ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ – 7:65
So O Muslims, If They Are Unable To Reply To This Challenge Of Yours, Then Know Well That It Is Sent Down Only With The Knowledge Of Allah; And That Except Him, There Is No Real God; So Will You Now Accept?
فَإِلَّمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَكُمْ فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا أُنزِلَ بِعِلْمِ اللَّهِ وَأَن لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ – 11:14
“Say (O Dear Prophet Muhammed – Peace And Blessings Be Upon Him), “Who Is The Lord Of The Heavens And The Earth?” Proclaim, “Allah”; Say, “So Have You Appointed Such As Supporters Besides Him, Who Can Neither Benefit Nor Harm Themselves?”; Say, “Will The Blind And The Sighted Ever Be Equal? Or Will The Realms Of Darkness And The Light Ever Be Equal?” Have They Appointed Such As Partners To Allah Who Created Something Like Allah Did? Therefore Their Creation And His Creation Seemed Alike To Them? Proclaim, “Allah Is The Creator Of All Things, And He Alone Is The Dominant Over All.”
قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ قُلِ اللَّهُ ۚ قُلْ أَفَاتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمْ نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا ۚ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الْأَعْمَىٰ وَالْبَصِيرُ أَمْ هَلْ تَسْتَوِي الظُّلُمَاتُ وَالنُّورُ ۗ أَمْ جَعَلُوا لِلَّهِ شُرَكَاءَ خَلَقُوا كَخَلْقِهِ فَتَشَابَهَ الْخَلْقُ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ قُلِ اللَّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ – 13:16
“And Allah Has Proclaimed, “Do Not Ascribe Two Gods; Indeed He Is The Only One God; Therefore Fear Me Alone.”
وَقَالَ اللَّهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا إِلَٰهَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ ۖ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ فَإِيَّايَ فَارْهَبُونِ – 16:51
Proclaim (O Dear Prophet Mohammed – Peace And Blessings Be Upon Him), “I Am Purely A Herald Of Warning – And There Is No God Except Allah, The One, The All Dominant.”
قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا مُنذِرٌ ۖ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ – 38:65
And Only He Is The God Of The Heavenly Creation And The God Of The Earthly Creation; And He Only Is The Wise, The All Knowing.
وَهُوَ الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاءِ إِلَٰهٌ وَفِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَٰهٌ ۚ وَهُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْعَلِيمُ – 43:84
“Or Do They Have A God Besides (One) Allah? Purity Is To Allah From Their Ascribing Of Partners To Him.”
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ – 52:43
