In the Matrix Revolutions, APUs (Armoured Personnel Units) are used to defend the city of Zion.  These are robotic exoskeletons that enhance the pilot’s strength and come with a 30mm machine gun on either arm.

I think I’ve found the real world equivalent:

The power assist suit’s role is to help carers lift the elderly in and out of bed.

Admittedly this role may not be quite as glamorous, but shove a pair of machine guns on it and the two will be indistinguishable.
