Man accused of having sex with Siloam Springs family's pet donkey
A man was arrested after he was caught on surveillance camera having sex with a family's pet donkey in Siloam Springs, according to an incident report. The Whitaker family called police at about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 16, and said that a man was trespassing on their property and having sex with one of their pet donkeys. When the officer arrived on scene that Sunday morning, he found 49-year-old Everett Compton, hiding in the bushes on the back of the property, according to the report. Compton told the officer he was just taking a walk, but later admitted to having "sexual contact" with the donkey. Compton was booked in the Benton County Jail on bestiality charges and is being held on a $5,000 bond."It just made me sick to my stomach. To know that she couldn’t tell nobody and that she was having to go through this and she couldn’t tell nobody. We knew he was there so we could call police to come and check things out,” Joyce Whitaker said. The Whitakers had been talking with police for the past month, and officers had posted extra patrols in the area. The family found pictures on their game cameras and they posted "No Trespassing and No Feeding the Donkeys" signs around the property. However, they were not able to collect enough evidence of criminal wrongdoing. After they installed a security camera to record video, they discovered what was going on.Prior to his arrest, Compton told the officer he had been feeding the donkeys some carrots. When the officer asked Compton if he had been having sex with any donkeys that night, he answered "No."The officer then told Compton there were surveillance cameras located around the property, and that he planned to look at the footage. Compton told the officer he smokes a lot of marijuana, which makes him do "sick things." According to the report from July, Compton promised the officer that he would get help if he were not charged with having sex with the donkey.Carry the free 40/29 News app wherever you go and connect to local news.
