من يطَّلع على كتاب (المناظر) والموضوعات التي تتعلق بالضوء وما إليه، يخرج بأن ابن الهيثم قد طبع علم الضوء بطابع جديد لم يسبق إليه، وقد ألف هذا الكتاب عام 411هـ/ 1021م، وفيه استثمر عبقريته الرياضية، وخبرته الطبية، وتجاربه العلمية، فتوصل فيه إلى نتائج وضعته على قمة عالية في المجال العلمي، وصار بها أحد المؤسسين لعلوم غيّرت من نظرة العلماء لأمور كثيرة في هذا المجال.

1 book4 followersأبو علي الحسن بن الهيثم، من أصل عربي، لُقِّبَ ببطليموس الثاني، وهو عالم موسوعي من أعظم علماء الرياضيات والفيزياء، وأتقن الطب وصنف فيه لكنه لم يمارسه، ويُعد مؤسس علم البصريات. ولد في البصرة وعاش فيها حياته الأولى، وكان في طفولته عازفًا عن اللهو مع أقرانه، مقبلاً على القراءة والاطلاع، وعندما شبَّ اشتغل كموظف في الديوان الحكومي، إلا أنه عكف على مواصلة البحث والدراسة، فسافر في طلب العلم، فذهب إلى بغداد والشام ومصر، وتنقّل بين أرجاء الدولة الإسلامية.
Alhazen was an Arab Muslim scientist, mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher. Ibn al-Haytham made significant contributions to the principles of optics, astronomy, mathematics, visual perception, and the scientific method. He was the first to explain that vision occurs when light bounces on an object and then is directed to one's eyes. He spent most of his life close to the court of the Fatimid Caliphate in Cairo and earned his living authoring various treatises and tutoring members of the nobilities.
Ibn al-Haytham is widely considered to be one of the first theoretical physicists, and an early proponent of the concept that a hypothesis must be proved by experiments based on confirmable procedures or mathematical evidence—hence understanding the scientific method 200 years before Renaissance scientists.
