THE YU-GI-OH! TRADING CARD GAME RELEASES ITS FIRST NEW MONSTER TYPE SINCE 2017

Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. (KONAMI) today announced that Duelist Nexus is available now for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) in Europe and Oceania. The new booster set debuts Illusion monsters, the first new monster Type for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG since Cyberse monsters arrived in Starter Deck: Link Strike.   

Illusion monsters cannot be struck down in battle. They can’t defeat other monsters in battle either, but they harm them in other ways instead. Take for example Nightmare Magician, an Illusion monster that gives you control of any other monster it battles. It can also destroy any other card on the field if another monster attacks. 

On top of that, Duelist Nexus introduces Quarter Century Secret Rares to core boosters for the first time. 25 cards will be available as Quarter Century Secret Rares to represent 25 years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game.  

Duelist Nexus also features new cards inspired by the anime series Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s, new Infernoble Knights and Dinosaur cards, and a brand-new World Premiere theme.  

The complete set includes 49 Common Cards, 26 Super Rare Cards, 14 Ultra Rare Cards and 10 Secret Rare Cards. 24 cards will also be available as Quarter Century Secret Rares, and 1 special card will only be available as a Quarter Century Secret Rare.
